- The Joint Munitions & Lethality Contracting Center at Picatinny Arsenal, NJintends to award a contract to convert existing smoke detection equipment in a building at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ from non-hazard rated to equipment rated for Class 1, Division 2, Groups A,B,C & D and C & D hazardous environments. A sole source contract to Associated Fire Protection, Inc., Paterson, NJ underthe authority of 10 USC 2304(1), as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements is intended. This Purchase Order is contemplated to disable and remove the existing equipment as follows: 4 Standard Smoke Detectors1 Standard Pull Station1 Standard horn/strobe The contractor will provide all required labor, materials, parts and accessories to install the following equipment: 4 Class 1, Division 2 Groups A, B, C & D smoke detectors3 Class 1, Division 2 Groups C & D pull stations3 Class 1, Division 2 Groups C & D horn/strobes This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal, the U.S. Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may indentify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
