REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR TRANSIT PROFESSIONALS TRI23-50 Agency: The National Transit Institute Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Purchasing Department Administrative Services Bldg. III 3 Rutgers Plaza New Brunswick, N.J. 08901 ATTN: Gail Schmidt, Senior Buyer Phone: (732) 932-4375, ext. 2328 Fax: (732) 932-4390 Email: gschmidt@rci.rutgers.edu Date for receipt of proposals : August 17, 2009 The National Transit Institute (NTI) is seeking proposals from qualified professionals to deliver its newly developed Project Management for Transit Professionals course. In addition, NTI may periodically request proposers to edit/update the course materials. This course will help practitioners appreciate the importance of project management while creating and executing a project plan. It is designed to provide project managers with accurate information on analyzing, leading, and managing the complexities of transit projects. By the end of this course participants will be able to: · Describe the major components of a well-defined project · Explain the functionality of each phase of the project lifecycle and associated deliverables · Create a Project Management Plan (PMP), including a Statement of Work (SOW) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) · Identify methods to obtain reasonable project estimates to develop a realistic project schedule · Use Earned Value to control and report a project’s status and evaluate the impact of potential changes on the PMP · Recognize the relationship between leadership and teamwork development, as well as the importance of communicating to all stakeholders To obtain a copy of the complete Request for Proposal, send a written request on your organization letterhead to gschmidt@rci.rutgers.edu or fax a copy of your request to the fax number noted above.
