Description
It is NOAA's intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with SCAN PACIFIC, LLC representing VESTDAVIT in North America for the modification and reconstruction of four NOAA owned VESTDAVIT hydraulic davits to be used for handling and storage of Jensen 29 foot survey launches on the NOAA Vessel RAINIER in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The purpose of this synopsis is to conduct a sources sought of industry for the reconfiguration of VESTDAVIT survey launches. Specifically, NOAA requires VESTDAVIT to reconfigure four (4) NOAA owned VESTDAVIT hydraulic davits to be able to support Jensen 29 foot survey launches aboard the NOAA Vessel RAINIER. The reconfigured hydraulic davits shall have the following capabilities/characteristics: 1) Safe for deployment and retrieval of launches with personnel aboard launches (manned); 2) Shock absorbers and constant tension to mitigate impact loading of wire rope falls in a seaway; and 3) Technical manuals and crew training for the re-configured davits. Potential offerors interested in this acquisition must submit a statement of capability for the completion of the requirements above to Paul.J.Reed@noaa.gov no later than July 15, 2009. Questions and statements of capability concerning this acquisition shall be directed to Contracting Officer Paul Reed at Paul.J.Reed@noaa.gov. All inquiries and statements must be submitted in writing no later than July 15, 2009. Telephone inquiries will not be honored. All vendors doing business with the Government are required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR.
