- The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided: "That the Secretary shall enter into a contract with the Institute of Medicine for which not more than $1,500,000 shall be made available...." This task order was awarded under an Indefinte Deliver Indefinite Quantity Contract Number HHSP23320042509XI with the National Acdemy of Sciences (NAS). Payment for task orders awarded under this contract are cost reimbursement.. Task Order HHSP23337002T is for the NAS Institute of Medicine (IOM) to provide guidance to Congress and the Secretary of Health and Human Services on national priorities for comparative effectiveness research. The Secretary will allocate $400,000,000 to accelerate the development and dissemination of research assessing the comparative effectiveness of heath care treatments and strategies.
