Description
The United States Marine Corps Logistics Command - Contracts Dept. is seeking possible sources capable of supplying a system meeting the following requirement: The Engineering and Integration Team of Maintenance Center Albany has a requirement to develop a system for lifting and handling wounded personnel inside the Mobile Trauma Bay. The system shall be constructed similar to a material handling bridge crane but rated for handling personnel in a combat scenario. The system shall be designed to move both fore/aft and side to side while positioning wounded personnel onto wall mounted litter brackets that are approximately 36 - 42" off the floor. The system should be designed to minimize intrusion of the system into the headroom of the occupants and weight of the system should be kept to a minimum using light weight high strength materials. Minimum requirements 1.Capable of handling a 300 pound person on a standard NATO litter.2.Lift speed to be a minimum of 10 feet per minute.3.System should be designed so that personnel can be manually lifted and lowered in the event of a power outage.4.System shall be battery powered with a wall mounted recharging station if possible. If battery power is not possible, electrical power shall be provided so that no cables are crowding the headroom of the occupants.5.System shall be designed so that it is acceptable for use in a medical environment.6.The installed height of the system shall be no more than 16" in total (interior height of Mobile Trauma Bay is 88 ").7.System shall come equipped with a lifting beam and four point sling to handle the standard NATO litter with the capacity to handle a 300 pound person. Entities capable of supplying such a system should contact Dan Beaulieu (see above).
