Description
MARKET SURVEY: Fixed Site Optical Augmentation Systems. The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command, CECOM Contracting Center-Washington (CCCE-W) on behalf of the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM), Communications and Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC), Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD), Ground Combat Systems Division is conducting market research to identify companies having Fixed Site (fixed site is defined as an OA system that will be mounted on a stable platform, and be able to search a predetermined area of interest) Optical Augmentation (OA) systems. The NVESD will host Market Survey vender briefings at NVESD, Ft Belvoir on 29 Jul 2009. The purpose of this Market Survey is to invite vendors to exchange information with NVESD on any Fixed Site OA systems that are at or close to a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6/7. The definition of TRL 6/7 is an actual operational system that is capable of being assessed/operated in a relevant military field environment by representative users. At the market survey briefing session NVESD will provide an overview of the governments interest in Fixed Site OA systems and potential path forward for equipping our forces with a near term solution. Each vendor will be allowed 30 minutes to present its Fixed Site OA system via power point and/or hardware demonstration and 10 minutes for a question and answer session. Vender briefings may be presented either via CD/DVD or from their lap top computer or from paper copies on an overhead projector. The vender will be required to provide a government laser safety assessment that must include the systems Nominal Ocular Hazard Distance (NOHD). Vendor briefings should include production capability, production cost estimate and delivery schedule. An advance copy of the vendor's briefing should be provided with the request to participate to marilyn.shortle@us.army.mil. The company shall be responsible for any costs associated with preparing responses for this market survey and participating in the actual briefing at NVESD. The briefing should be kept unclassified; questions related to security classification guidance should be directed to George Fahlsing, 703-704-1593. It is desirable that data be received with unlimited rights to the Government. However, we recognize that proprietary data may be included with the information provided. If so, clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from the unrestricted information as an addendum. Please provide your intent to participate in the Market Survey, to include company name, business unit, address, phone number, e-mail, point of contact, and a list of attendees with nationality to CCCE-W, Contracting Officer, Marilyn Shortle, NLT, 3:00PM, 15 July 2009 at marilyn.shortle@Us.army.mil. Belvoir and NVESD compound security. Security clearances and visit requests must be sent to NVESD Visitor Control, 703-704-1133, their FAX number is 703-704-1098, and the SMO Code is W4G8286.
