- Description
- INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The VA Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN 6) Central Acquisition Service intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with St. Jude Medical for an EnSite Mapping System,an EnSite Verismo Segmentation Tool, and the EnSite Fusion US Field Install kit. The procurement is to provide the Richmond VA Medical Center with the Cardiac Mapping System. The make and model of this equipment is the specific equipment that is technically acceptable for this procurement in providing cardiac mapping of abnormal heart rhythms. The system allows the navigation of an EP catheter in real time to map any arrhythmia using advanced computer technology. The system creates three-dimensional graphical displays of cardiac structures, without the use of fluoroscopy, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The system also has the distinctive feature of being compatible with numerous ablation catheters, giving the physician the leeway to use their preferred diagnostic and therapy approach. It is also able to collect timing and voltage information form up to 12 catheters and 64 electrodes simultaneously and to automatically identify and mark areas of low voltage. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine compatibility of specified items. Responses can be submitted to dori.dabbs2@va.gov. Responses must be received no later than 11:00 am EST, July 13, 2009. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
