Description
RECOVERY - VKAG 00-1168P3 Repair Electrical Distribution System This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because a statute exists that expressly authorizes or requires that the acquisition be made from a specific source or through another agency, specifically, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-5. This requirement was awarded under FAR Part 6.302-5 (b)(4) and the Small Business Act as an 8(a) sole source award. The project was accepted by the Small Business Administration (SBA) on behalf of M-W Electric, Inc. as a sole source requirement for the 8(a) program on 7 Apr 09. Work is to be accomplished on Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. Principal features of this project includes work, but is not limited to the following: 1. Remove existing 7200/12470 V overhead primary conductors, power distribution poles, pole mounted switches and transformers, overhead secondary, pole mounted lights and all associated pole hardware for the area indicated on the drawings. Install new underground primary conductors in concrete encased duct bank. Install new underground secondary circuits. 2. Contractor shall be responsible for contracting directly with BellSouth and Time Warner Cable to have each respective utility relocated existing overhead lines to underground. Contractor shall include direct cost estimate from each utility for the cost of the relocation in Contractor's proposal. 3. Provide and install various single and three-phase pad mounted transformers, pad mounted switches, and associated primary and secondary circuits as detailed on the drawings. Trench and backfill for all new electrical conduits installed as part of this project. 4. Provide and install new aluminum street lighting poles and fixtures and all associated conduits and wiring as detailed on drawings.
