- Description
- This is a notice of intent to issue a contract for design-build construction services required to redesign and renovate a portion of building 801 of the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA to create a new imaging center that will accommodate the installation of a new Siemens Biograph 16 PET/CT imaging system. This acquisition is a total set-aside for service disabled veteran owned small business concerns in accordance with the Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Health Care and Information Technology Act of 2006. The successful contractor shall interface with the equipment manufacturer and medical center radiology professionals to determine pertinent equipment parameters, specifications and operational requirements to develop detailed drawings and specifications for medical center review and concurrence. Upon approval of the design, the contractor shall provide all supervision, labor materials and equipment to complete the renovation. The value of this project is estimated to be between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 and the total time allowed for project completion from award to finish is 270 days. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price design-build construction contract in accordance with negotiated procedures outlined in FAR Part 15. Proposals shall be required and the Government shall consider the following evaluation factors when making its selection: technical and management capabilities, past performance and price. The request for proposal shall be posted to the FEBBIZOPS website on or about August 20, 2009. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Agency.
