Description
Sources Sought Notice: The Centralized Acquisition Service, VISN 6, Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking sources for the purchase of a Portable Intrapulmonary Gas Exchange Analysis system and supplies for the VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. The scanning system should be capable of measuring cardio-respiratory response in the field without any limitations. The system must allow the ability to accurately analyze intrapulmonary gas exchange under various environmental conditions and have flexibility to be used in the field or in a lab. The system needs to have the following features and capabilities: - Ability to use in the field without the need for a PC or laptop - Utilize the use of digital telemetry transmission to send data to a PC located as far away as 800 meters - The capability to covert the Mobile unit into a conventional Metabolic Cart - Able to store up to 16,000 breaths - Portable System weight of 800 g or less - Integrated LCD for calibrating and showing data during field testing - Rechargeable batteries The Portable Intrapulmonary Gas Exchange Analysis system shall be same or comparable to the K4B2 System available from Cosmed USA, Inc. Current indications are that this will be a sole source procurement; market research has indicated that the intended vendor is only source for this specific equipment. However, if there are any firms which believe they may be capable of offering a comparable and suitable product which will meet the requirements, then responses are welcome. Responses may be sent to dori.dabbs2@va.gov. Responses received on or before 11:00 AM EST, July 8, 2009, will be considered. Please advise if your firm is a small business, and if so, what category.
