- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Northern Indiana Health Care System, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, IN 46953 has a requirement to install a driveway addition along the south side of the existing concrete drive leading to Building 172 from the north to make it suitable for bus traffic. The Contractor shall remove the existing side walk and those other paved areas west of Building172 entrances as called for in the plans. Soil shall be removed as called for to allow installation of a paved turn around/unloading area for buses, additional parking places for visitors and a new side walk from Building 172 to the west parking lot. Modifications/widening of the south end drive shall be completed per the prints and specifications to allow easier access for turning of the buses. The partially paved areas immediately adjacent to the west entrance to Building 172 shall be excavated, and new concrete poured over the entire entrance area from the new curb to the building for better access by visitors. New airlock enclosures with power activated doors-one sliding, and one larger swinging type, shall be installed as called for on both of the existing entrances. Work includes general construction, alterations, roads, walks, grading, drainage, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures, construction and certain other items.This procurement is a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Contract award shall be firm fixed price. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer that shall be considered by the agency. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 238140 and its size standard of 14.0 million apply. The solicitation shall be made available on or about April 28, 2009 with a due date of May 28, 2009. Copies of the solicitation may be obtained at no charge at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ Dissemination is limited to electronic medium and the VA will provide no hard copies. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will also be available at the URL address. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. The resulting contract shall be awarded to the offeror who provides the best overall value to the Government. Completion time shall be 180 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. No telephone request will be accepted. All interested parties must have a Dun and Bradstreet Number, Federal Identification Number (FID), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), and if veteran owned, registered in the Veteran Information Pages at www.VETBIZ.GOV. AWARD OF THIS PROJECT IS CONTINGENT ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
