- Description
- 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:The work to be performed under this contract consists of the complete process of reforestation of approximately 47.0 acres at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Kings Bay, GA. The work consists of: site preparation by root raking and spot piling, tandem chopping, and harrowing with a heavy forestry harrow. Seedlings will be purchased, transported and planted by the contractor at the specified spacing. The preferred method of planting is by machine or hand. Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to perform the site preparation work, seedling purchase and planting of the seedlings at NSB Kings Bay. When it is determined by the Contracting Officer that the original areas, or portions thereof, are unsuitable or unavailable for performance of the specified work, the Contracting Officer reserves the right to delete areas or to substitute, at the contract price, the same type and amount of work (+/- 10%) in other areas similar in topography and conditions within NSB Kings Bay. Each bidder is required to submit a written description of equipment proposed to be used in the performance of this work, with the bid. This description shall include such information as make, model, and location of equipment. If the equipment is to be leased, a signed agreement with the leasing company(s) must be included. Failure to provide this equipment description or lease agreement, with the bid, will be grounds to reject the bid. The Contracting Officer, or authorized representative, reserves the right to inspect the bidder's equipment prior to the award of the contract
