- Description
- Scope of Contract The work shall consist of what is shown on the drawings, stated in the specifications and summarized below: 1.Dick Creek Fences: This work shall consist of furnishing and installing three strand, smooth wire, high-tension electric fence, braces, gates and one cattle guard. Fence construction is divided into three separate sections of approximately; 8,826 ft, 7,900 ft. and 6,300 ft. Also to include the removal and relocation of one cattle guard. 2. Carter Mountain Fences: The exclosure is a 3 strand barbed wire fence with a top rail. Posts and top rail are treated, >8” in diameter and are generally sound enough to be reused for this project. Any materials that need to be replaced will be provided by the contractor. The work to be done involves reconstructing in place the west half of the north fence line (see attached map). This part of the exclosure was built in a wet area and has gradually sunk into the ground. It cannot be moved as it was constructed on the Forest Service property boundary, and moving it to dry ground would place it on private land. Posts will be installed at ground level to prevent the fence from sinking in the future. The second aspect of the project is removing most of the northeast and east sides of the exclosure and reconstructing it on the west side of the road (see attached map). The first gate (in the northeast corner of the exclosure) will be removed. The second gate (in the southeast corner of the exclosure) will be retained along with enough fencing to tie into natural barriers preventing motorized vehicles from driving around the gate. This will be marked on the ground prior to initiation of contract work. Continuous Fence: Approximately 500’ of continuous fencing will be installed at the end of Forest Road 474.1V to prevent motorized vehicles from going beyond the road’s end (see attached map). Continuous fencing panels, wood posts, and hardware will be provided by the government and will be delivered on site. All other materials will be supplied by the contractor. 3. Brown Mountain Campground (Alternate Bid Item): This work shall include the removal and disposal of 490 feet of wood fence and the installation of 490 feet of two rail steel pipe fence and posts.
