- Description
- RECOVERY ACT PROJECT - Construction Project R501-09-205, Pave Overflow Patient Parking Area. This solicitation is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) construction contract, which, pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d) and in accordance with Public Law 109-461, this project is a Total Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). All SDVOSB submitting an offer must be registered in the VetBiz Information pages located at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. All bidders must also be registered on www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. The NAICS Code 238990, along with size standard $14 million applies. Work includes general construction, alterations, roads, walks, grading, drainage, electrical work, utility systems, necessary removal of existing vegetation and certain other items to pave the overflow patient parking area at the New Mexico VA Health Care System hospital. Contract completion time is 100 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid meeting/walkthrough is scheduled for July 28, 2009 at 10:00 AM (local time), attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. Attendees are to convene at Building 56 (Contracting/Engineering Conference Room). This is the only site visit that will be provided for this procurement and interested bidders are highly encouraged to attend. No hard copies of the solicitation or drawings will be provided; and telephone requests or questions will NOT be accepted. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until VA receives proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on the FBO website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. Sealed bid opening is 1:00PM (local time) on August 25, 2009. Electronic and faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires the bidders/contractors to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds. NO BIDDER'S MAILING LISTS ARE MAINTAINED WITH THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing, emailed to patti.amidon@va.gov.
