Description
HCN Sole Source Justification for MetOne Aspirated Shiled Synopsis The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/OAR/ARL/ATDD, plans to negotiate on a sole source basis, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, with Met One Instruments to provide thirty-seven (37) Special Aspirated Radiation Shield/Dual Fan Motors, Fan Aspirated, 12 VDC Dual Fan, NOAA Version 7398. The requirements for the shield are as follows: The shield must be painted with a highly reflective paint; the housing must be able to support up to four individual sensors of 3/8 inch diameter; the shield should have errors of less than.1°C; corrosion resistant materials used for all construction; have low conductive interconnects and use triple shielding in design; have two 12 volt DC fans that have a speed output that can be monitored for correct fan operation; the two fans must be able to be powered independently; the DC fans must draw less than 450 mA of current under normal operation; the operating range of the shield must be -50 to +60°C. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required system. Drawings can be provided upon request. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. No written solicitation will be issued.
