- PROJECT DETAILS: This project provides pavement preservation most paved surfaces in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is located in Coconino County of Arizona and Kane, Garfield and San Juan Counties of Utah. This Recreation Area lies in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. The preservation treatments being use are chip seals and modified slurry seals in various combinations. Other construction applications used on a lesser scale are pavement patching, crack sealing and pavement markings. The work will consist of nearly 600,000 square yards of chip seals, 95,000 square yards of double chip seals and 180,000 square yards of modified slurry seals. One section is receiving a chip seal followed by a modified slurry seal to form a Cape seal. Advertisement is expected July 20, 2009. The estimated price range for this project is between $5 million and $7 million. The Invitation for Bid will be available for download after July 20, 2009, from the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at www.fedbizopps.gov. PLANS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON CFLHD's WEBSITE at http://www.cflhd.gov/procurement/construction/advertised-projects.cfm under the Project Name. Other information regarding this solicitation will also be available at the above website. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement and Free Trade Agreements. A Qualified HUBZone SBC receiving a HUBZone contract for general construction must spend at least 50% of the cost of the contract incurred for personnel on its own employees or employees of other qualified HUBZone SBCs. This requirement may be met by expending at least 50% of the cost of the contract incurred for personnel on its employees or it may subcontract at least 35% of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel to one or more qualified HUBZone SBCs. A qualified HUBZone SBC prime contractor may not, however, subcontract more than 50% of the cost of the contract incurred for personnel to non-qualified HUBZone SBCs.
