Description
RECOVERYThis notice is for informational purposes ONLY. This opportunity is available ONLY to contractors awarded contracts under Solicitation No. N200070600 (Contract No. 1443C2000070600, HDR Inc. and Contract No. 1443C2000070500, OTAK, Inc.). The selected Architect-Engineer design firm will develop construction documents for The work of this project consists of developing construction documents for multiple projects within Great Smoky Mountains National Park and assembling those documents into four separate packages for construction. Trailhead Parking Areas - Little River / Jakes Creek - The work of this project consists of the construction of one new 50 stall hot asphalt concrete pavement (HACP) parking area at the Little River Trailhead, the construction of one new 30 stall HACP parking area at the Jakes Creek Trailhead, the installation of approximately 1.60 miles HACP overlay on the existing Little River asphalt access road beginning at Elkmont Road leading to the proposed new parking area, the reconstruction of approximately 0.35 miles of the existing Jakes Creek asphalt access road beginning at the Little River Trailhead and leading to the proposed new parking area and the reconstruction of approximately 0.25 miles of the one way exit loop. Resurface Smokemont Developed Area - This package will resurface the roads within the Smokemont Developed Area including all associated parking areas, horse concession parking area, campsite pullouts, and dumping station. This work will also include paving the Bradley Fork Trailhead Parking Area. The package shall also include repairs needed on Smokemont Culvert over Bradley Fork. The triple barrel culvert is located in section F of the campground. Work shall include placing riprap along channel banks, repairing/replacing deteriorated stone masonry headwalls and wingwalls, patching of spalls on concrete footings, and recoating of protective coating in barrels. Resurface Heintooga Ridge Road - Heintooga Ridge Road is a 5.5 miles long, paved, two lane, two-way scenic drive from the Park Boundary at Black Camp Gap (Blue Ridge Parkway Boundary) to its end at Heintooga Overlook Picnic Area. This project will repave the Heintooga Ridge Road, all roadside pull-outs, overlooks and trailhead parking areas with hot asphalt concrete pavement. Proposed work shall include replacement of damaged/deteriorated culverts; repairs/reconstruction of cracked and/or subsided pavement areas; placement of hot asphalt concrete binder and wearing surfaces on road and all associated parking areas and pulloffs; milling existing pavement at Park Entrance parking area to maintain height of existing stone curb; restore shoulders with aggregate/topsoil mixture. Miscellaneous work will include drainage work, placement of new colored concrete sidewalks, wheel stops, sign replacement, installation of appropriate new signage (including MUTCD and Uniguide), new traffic markings, hazardous tree removal, vegetation pruning, and turf establishment along the roadway shoulders. Resurface Foothills Parkway (East) - The Foothills Parkway (East) is a two-lane, two-way 5.6-mile paved road. The pavement width is 22 to 24 feet wide. The work on this road will include resurfacing the road along with existing parking areas and pullouts and repairing one slide area. Miscellaneous items would include milling in parking areas; removal of asphalt walkways and replacement with colored concrete walks; repointing stone masonry curb; drainage work; removing and overlaying existing paved waterways; construction of ADA accessible ramps with curb cuts to provide handicap access to Park interpretive panels; shoulder work; sign replacement, installation of appropriate new signage (including MUTCD and Uniguide), new traffic markings, hazardous tree removal, vegetation pruning, and turf establishment along the roadway shoulders.
