Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Agilent Technologies, 1834 State Highway 71W, Cedar Creek, TX 78612-3412, for an Mx3005P QPCR system 110V with desktop computer and Beta Actin Install Plate for use in the Menigitis Laboratory at CDC to perform PCR reactions on thousands of isolates and clinical specimens from around the world. Unit is 100% compatible with Agilent units already in use and which our collaborators use. Specifications: Quartz-tungsten halogen lamp; photomultiplier tube (PMT); excitation and emission filter wheels with five customer-selected filter sets; Peltier-based 96-well block thermal cycling system; temperature range 25-99C; operating environment 18-35C (65-95F) and up to 85% non-condensing humidity; 45lb; 14"W x 20"D x18"H; multiplexing capabilities at 5 dyes per well; reaction volume per tube 10-50ul; computer: Intel CoreDuo/Core2 Duo 1.6 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB hard drive, CD-RW drive, 14.1-inch XGA monitor, 128 MB video memory, internal network card. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
