- Operational Contracting, US Air Force Academy intends to award a sole source purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to Ms Sara Bender for Buddhist Program services. This service is being acquired for the USAF Academy Cadet Chapel. This can be considered a part time position with approximately 15 hours per week of service being required. The Buddhist Religious Program Leader is an established leader of a Buddhist Sangha or Church, who is fully authorized to teach the Dharma, perform Buddhist religious services, and provide individual spiritual guidance. This person is an ordained Buddhist Monk, Sensei or Nun, or a person of recognized Buddhist training, maturity of understanding and teaching ability who has received Buddhist Lay Ordination and has been granted the authority to teach the Dharma by a fully ordained Buddhist clergyperson. At least fifteen years of Buddhist training should be required for this position, as well as experience in leading and developing a community of practice including college-aged individuals. He/she should have knowledge and expertise in the area of Buddhist ethical training and character development. He/she should live in the Colorado Springs area or within reasonable commuting distance. The individual will be a United States citizen. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons and/or firms may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. If no response is received by 16 July 2009, 2:00PM Noon, MDT, to the effect that comparable supplies and/or services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and or services though a sole source procurement with Ms Sara Bender a sole source award will be made.
