- Description
- The T.S. Empire State is a U.S. Government owned training ship provided to the State University of New York Maritime Academy for the purpose of training young men and women for a career in the U.S. Maritime Industry. It is the intention of the Maritime Administration to conduct a scheduled out of water dry dock availability of the vessel September 2009. Planned out of water repairs and inspections will include but not limited to tailshaft surveys, anchor chain and sea valve inspections, underwater hull plate inspection and repairs, and underwater hull paint system repairs. All inspections and repairs will comply to all American Bureau of Shipping and U.S. Coast Guard requirements. Repairs will be accomplished at a Contractors facility. The complete solicitation package will be posted on this website no later than July 15, 2009. The TS Empire State is located at SUNY Maritime College, 6 Pennyfield Ave., Bronx, NY 10465.
