Description
The solicitation is being issued with the intention of awarding an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC). The resultant contract will have a two year base period with two, one year option periods. The guaranteed Minimum dollar value per year is $100,000.00. The annual estimated Quantity(s) (AEQ) per year are as follows: NSN 6350-01-523-1998 600,000 (AEQ) 6350-01-531-6358 50,000 (AEQ) 5340-01-495-3007 3,000 (AEQ) ** NOTE: These are estimates only. The actual quantities ordered may be less based on the availability of existing serial numbers for the ANSI protocol RFID tags. The U S Army has awarded, on a competitive basis, a new procurement vehicle that will introduce upgraded ISO 18000-7 Active RFID tags. There is a very controlled migration plan taking place over an extended period during which tags must be converted by the Army and DLA from the ANSI standard to the new ISO standard. Quantities of the unconverted ANSI INCITS tags must be maintained in DLA inventory until all service write stations have been converted to the ISO protocol. This proposed contract to Savi Technology is essential for the successful transition from the ANSI INCITS technology to the ISO 18000-7 technology. Once the transition is completed the need for ANSI protocol tags will be eliminated and the option to extend this contract may not be exercised. Solicitation SPM8EF-09-R-0001 is expected to be issued July 14, 2009 with an expected closing date of July 30, 2009. These dates are subject to change.
