- The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine the availability and capability of qualified small businesses (including certified 8(a), Small Disadvantaged, HubZone Firms; Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned small businesses, and Women Owned small businesses. The Rock Island Contracting Center (RICC) is seeking sources that can provide all the necessary material, equipment, property, licenses, and personnel to perform disposal by resource recovery and recycling for sodium nitrate. The contractor shall establish a program for the receipt, storage, handling and disposal of sodium nitrate delivered to the contractor by the Government at a contractor site(s). Hazardous materials that can be successfully recovered and recycled may be recovered for non-military use by the contractor; otherwise, the material shall be treated in an environmentally safe and approved manner at contractor expense. Responders to this Sources Sought advertisement should submit evidence in writing that indicates they have developed systems as described above and that they are in use and considered fully successful. Any proprietary information submitted should be identified as such and will be properly protected from disclosure. Include the names and addresses of customers that have received the systems. This notice is for planning purposes only and does not constitute an Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, a Solicitation, a Request for Quotes, or an indication the Government will contract for the items contained in this announcement. This request is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this announcement. However, information obtained as a result of this announcement may be reflected in the subsequent solicitation, this announcement is Government market research, and may result in revisions to both its requirements and its acquisition strategy based on industry responses. RESPONDENTS MUST SUBMIT CAPABILITY STATEMENT COMMENTS VIA E-MAIL to sef.r.terronez@us.army.mil no later than July 27, 2009 4:00 PM Central Time for consideration.
