- I1700090203. This solicitation as well as any issued amendments will be available on-line at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about July 23, 2009. The work of this contract is located in the towns of Bar Harbor and Mount Desert on Mount Desert Island, Maine at four different sites. Work under this project is for a 50-foot wide boundary fuel break and 10-foot wide line definition segments on recently surveyed property lines. All lines will be flagged, signed and delineated in advance of work to be performed with access through parklands only. Travel to worksites by motorized vehicles is on established roads. All off road travel will be by foot; no motorized ATV vehicles are allowed. The boundary areas range from open, flat, rock face and slopes to some steep and uneven terrain while encountering all types of forest/fuel types as bog, grass, dead and down tree areas to dense soft and hardwood stands. The cutting, thinning and pruning will be by manual means using chainsaws, brush cutters, polesaws/pruners and hand tools. Disposal of debris will be dispersed inside of park boundaries. Crew size is limited to maximum of 5 people and minimum of 2 people. Work must be completed by October 23, 2009. NAICS 113310, Logging. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. Estimated price is under $100,000. A pre quote site visit will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 rain or shine. Meet at Acadia National Park Headquarters conference room, Route 233, McFarland Hill, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 at 10:00 am. All bidders are encouraged to attend and should bring their solicitation package. Although the sites are always open for inspection, no other pre quote meeting with government personnel will be scheduled. Hard copy quote documents only shall be accepted for this solicitation (no faxed or electronic quote documents will be accepted). Quotes must be received at Acadia National Park, P. O. Box 177, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 by close of business on August 24, 2009 local prevailing time. A complete quote package shall include the original completed SF 18, Request for Quotation with original signature, completed quote schedule; and completed Section K, Representations and Certifications.
