Description
RECOVERY--The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract to upgrade the emergency generator at Pike Island Lock and Dam. The Work is located at Pike Island Lock and Dam, Wheeling, WV. Work involves providing and installing a new 300KW diesel generator with 1,200 gallon, double wall, sub-base fuel tank. The generator will be installed within a new insulated, weather proof, metal enclosure with inside walkway for performing maintenance on the generator. The enclosure will be provided with ventilation, comfort heating, lighting and generator accessories. Changes to the Electrical distribution systems include new service conductors, main disconnect switch, automatic transfer switch, motor control center, wire and cable, and conduit. Existing equipment made obsolete by new work shall be removed and disposed of by the contractor. The period of performance will be 180 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between $250,000 to $500,000. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for SBA Certified HUBZone firms (certification as HUBZone concern is made through the US Small Business Administration). The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately July 23, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
