- Description
- RECOVERY--The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract to upgrade Allegheny Lock 6 & 7 generators and electrical service. The Work is located at Lock and Dam 6, Allegheny River near Clinton and Lock and Dam 7 Allegheny River near Kittanning in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Work consists of removing existing generators, and furnishing and installing new 480V, diesel generators and associated electrical service. The generator for L/D 6 is 150 KW and the generator for L/D 7 is 200 KW. The new generators will be located exterior to the buildings at each project. The work at Lock and Dam 7 Allegheny also includes installation of new electrical service to the project, removal of the existing oil-fired boiler and associated items and installation of electric unit heaters and heat pumps. The period of performance will be 180 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between $250,000 to $500,000. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for SBA Certified HUBZone firms (certification as HUBZone concern is made through the US Small Business Administration). The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately July 23, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
