- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The Fort Hood Directorate of Contracting is seeking information from industry for preliminary planning purposes. This is not a Request for Proposal. The information gathered as a result of this synopsis will be used to identify certified HubZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) small business firms for the purpose of determining how the procurement will be conducted. This sources sought announcement is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. The anticipated procurement will be a firm fixed price construction contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT A CERTIFIED HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS, DO NOT SUBMIT A RESPONSE TO THIS SYNOPSIS. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: The work is located at Fort Hood, Texas and consists of constructing a 110 foot x 210 foot, pre-engineered steel canopy for use as a horse training arena for the 1st Cavalry Division Horse Detachment. The facility is open air and must sustain winds up to 120 miles per hour. Other work involves placement of footers to anchor and support the structure. All construction work must be completed and the facility fully usable by the Government on September 15th, 2009. The magnitude of this procurement is estimated to be between $250,000.00, and $500,000.00. Firms qualified as certified HUBZones and who are interested in bidding for this work must respond to this announcement by 4:00 p.m., CDT, on Friday, July 10th, 2009. Responses must include the following information: 1. Business name, physical address under which the HUBZone entitlement exists, and contact information, to include an email address. 2.Small Business office that certified the firm, and the date of certification. Responses shall be submitted via email to Jennifer Parker at jennifer.l.parker@us.army.mil.
