Description
The Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or VA"), located at 1201 NW 16 St Miami, FL 33125, intends to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA-248-09-RP-0365, for a project entitled Re-Connect the ALCO Generator Located in Building No. 1. The current intention of the VA is to procure these services competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. This is intended to be a competitive RFP, meaning that interested offerors shall maintain a licensed professional electrician on this project and ensure that all work is accomplished in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL), and all other applicable federal, state and local codes. The VA intends to release this RFP with competition restricted completely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS code will be 238210, "Electrical Contractors," with an applicable small business size standard of $14 Million. The magnitude of the project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 The Period of Performance is expected to be one hundred eighty (180) days Performance and payment bond will be required within 15 days of award. The VA anticipates the use of a "best value/tradeoffs" evaluation method that will include both an analysis of price and past construction performance, on similar type and magnitude and well evaluation of the credentials and qualifications of the selected licensed professional electrician. The Request for Proposal is expected to be released on or about 14 May 2009, unless this notice is modified, the full RFP will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov) sometime between that date and the end of May. This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
