- Description
- Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete Project RA679-09-206 Modernize Halls and Floors, Building 5 at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor, materials and perform work for Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center as required by drawings and specifications. Work shall include, but not be limited to, demolition of all ceiling tile and grid system, demolition of flooring and rubber base, demolition of stair treads and landing tiles in the stairwells, demolition of doors, demolition of windows (where specified) demolition of modular furniture (where specified), demolition of existing switches and receptacles, demolition of existing data outlets, demolition of wall covering installation of new ceiling tile and grid system, installation of new flooring and rubber base, painting of the existing terrazzo base, patching/painting, installation of new switches and receptacles, installation of new data outlets. The contractor shall be responsible for all phasing and coordination required this contract. All work shall be done as specified in the contract drawings. Work will also include general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, elevator finishes, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. The estimated dollar value of construction is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Estimated solicitation issue date is on/about August 3, 2009, with an estimated bid opening date of September 3, 2009. The National American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. THIS SOLICITATION IS SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES (SDVOSB). All solicitation packages will be available for downloading from the website www.fedbizopps.gov. NO HARD COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE PROVIDED. However, hard copies of the drawings will be issued on a first come first serve basis only to prime contractors; no drawings will be issued to sub-contractors. Only twenty (20) sets of drawings will be issued. All requests for drawings and/or questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing to Wanda Goolsby (10N7/NLO), VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404 or by e-mail to Wanda.Goolsby@VA.GOV, please submit your request no later than August 3, 2009. It is highly recommended that you complete the solicitation mailing list on the website before downloading the solicitation.
