- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy, Southwestern Power Administration(Southwestern) intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to furnish, deliver, and construct a steel metal building of a single slope design in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to house specialty vehicles having an approximate weight of 50,000 pounds each. The building shall have six openings on the side of maximum length and height. Each opening shall be framed to accommodate an automatic operated 18 feet wide by 14 feet high metal overhead door. There shall be a steel three foot wide walk through entrance door for personnel to enter and exit the building. The end bay on the South end of the building shall be constructed to accept future expansion. There shall be six bays with adequate lighting, and electrical outlets provided in each. All wiring shall be concealed by conduit. Floor shall be of concrete and shall be elevated above present ground level to prevent water from entering building. Concrete apron shall be placed across front of building to facilitate entry of heavy vehicles into the building. In accordance with FAR 19.10, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this project is Unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 236220 and the small business size standard is $33.5 million. The magnitude of this project is estimated to be between $100,000 and $250,000 and the required project completion date is November 1, 2009. Contractor registration in the Governments Central Contractor Registry (CCR) is required in order to be eligible for contract award. Registration may be completed and information regarding the registration process may be obtained at http://www.ccr.gov. The solicitation package will be issued on or about July 23, 2009 with bids being due on or about August 23, 2009.
