Description
Sole Source Justification for Thermometrics RTD Temperature Sensor. The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/OAR/ARL/ATDD, plans to negotiate on a sole source basis, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, with Thermometrics Corporation to provide one hundred and twenty (120) Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTD), P/N R032-00000022. Our requirements for ambient temperature include the following: A platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) mechanically designed to withstand extreme environments with a moisture proof seal (a Thermometric proprietary design). The PRT element is 100 ohm ±0.4% @ 0°C class A with a Temperature Coefficient of 0.00385 (IEC 751). The combination of the element and the physical package provide an extremely low response time. These temperature sensors, when packaged in sets of three, must maintain an accuracy of ± 0.3ºC in all conditions from -60.0°C to 60.0ºC. The environmentally stable cable provided is 15 feet long, four 22 awg conductors with shield and drain. The temperature sensors must be lot stamped and manufactured to the International Temperature Scale ITS-1990 and traceable to NIST through primary and secondary calibration standards. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required system. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. No written solicitation will be issued. Reference Request for Quotation Number NRMAC100-9-17399SDC on quotation and submit by July 18, 2009, to Sharon Conger at Sharon.Conger@noaa.gov or by fax 865-576-1327.
