Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the government. The Bureau of Prisons has a future requirement for the provision of Special Learning Needs Teacher Services at the United States Penitentiary, in Atlanta, GA. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 611691 (Size Standard: $7.0 million). The Contractor must have a Masters Degree in Special Education or Reading Specialist. The degree must include or be supplemented by supervised student teaching and at least one course in each of the following areas; General Psychology, Human Development, History, and Philosophy of Education and teaching methods at the learning level of the position to be filled, i.e., elementary or secondary learning level. The Contractor is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and instructing classes in remedial reading, math, language arts, as well as other cognitive strategy programs to meet the education requirement of special learning needs inmates. The Contractor will work closely with the current Special Learning Needs Teacher and assist in the classroom. The Contractor will conduct specialized classes and resources that coordinated education competencies with social adjustments and is responsible for identifying, programming, and evaluating education systems that demonstrate effectiveness toward reaching classified student objective and goals. The Contractor must be certified to administer the Woodcock Johnson III Test. The work schedule will consist of nine (9) sessions per week. A session is defined as an hour. Sessions will be taught Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., excluding holidays. The government contemplates awarding of an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the future solicitation. The contract period shall consist of a 12 month base period with four 12 month option periods for renewal. A government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed and a contract may or may not result. Market Research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary, the government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the government. The Market Survey Questionnaire will be available on or about July 10, 2009, and will be distributed solely through General Service Administration's Federal Business Opportunities web site http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. This site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organization can submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The response date for the market survey is July 17, 2009. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written requests for the Market Survey will be accepted.
