Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole source commercial items contract to Irvine Access Floors, Inc. located at 9425 Washington Blvd., Suite Y-WW, Laurel, Maryland, 20723 to provide open and closed whips, raised floor boxes and whip coupling modulars for use with the Communications Intergrators, Inc. (Cii) under floor power distribution system. It is necessary to use genuine Cii parts because these are the only parts that will match the pin configuration. The Pin Configuration of the Cii Wiring System is custom to SSA, and no other manufacturer’s materials will fit and operate in the system properly. The use of this brand name description in this acquisition is essential to the Government’s requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR Part 13 and FAR 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items. It is SSA’s belief that Irvine Access Floors, Inc. is the only source qualified to meet our needs because of it is the only authorized distributor of Cii parts and materials for the Baltimore, MD region. This notice is for informational purposes only and is neither a request for quotation nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Interested parties that believe they are capable of providing these services can submit a capability statement to Kimberly Huttenberger via email at Kimberly.Huttenberger@ssa.gov no later than 4:30pm, EST, July 13, 2009. The Government will consider all information from responsible sources, but a determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely at the discretion of the Government.
