- Description
- Sources Sought Market Research The United States Air Force, through the Global Logistics Support Center (AFGLSC), Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting a Request For Information (RFI). The Air Force is looking to identify potential sources with the abilities to provide services and support to structure type of items for the B-1 "Lancer". The following questions will help provide a depth of knowledge to see if the Air Force should continue with direct OEM support or if possibilities are available for competition with small business. Some of the duties the contractor will be responsible for involve: management, control of the overall cost, schedules, performance of deliveries, workload balancing, reverse engineering and knowledge in all aspects of B-1 design and structure. Please respond to the following questions and forward your responses via e-mail to the contract specialist listed below by COB 24 August 2009. 1. Does your company have an engineering staff onsite? If so please describe the type and quantity of engineers. e.g. 2 Electrical Engineers, 5 Mechanical Engineers, 1 Aerospace Engineer etc... 2. Do you repair or overhaul similar items on any other program with a direct government contract? If so please provide the contract numbers and National Stock Number's (NSNs) 3. Have you ever had a direct repair/remanufacture contract with the USAF? If so please provide the contract numbers and NSNs. 4. Do you have Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAVAF) reporting capability? 5. Are you capable of meeting all government requirements without the assistance of an integrator or subcontractor? 6. If using an integrator or subcontractor what services would be performed out of house? 7. What issues would affect your ability to repair these items? e.g. testing equipment, tooling, fixtures, facilities, manpower etc.... 8. Do you anticipate any problems obtaining pieces from the Bill of Material? 9. Do you require any Government Furnished Property (to include material, parts or test equipment) or Government Furnished Material (GFM) for the repair of these parts? If so, please provide a listing of that material. 10. Does your repair process for these items require Government Furnished Equipment? If so, please provide a listing of that material. 11. Would you be interested in entering into a direct repair/overhaul contract with the USAF? If not any insight on what we can do to encourage your company to bid would be helpful. 12. Comments or other concerns with this RFI. This request is strictly for informational purposes and should not be construed as an offer to business with the government. Participating in this market research survey does not guarantee or imply that a solicitation will be forthcoming or indicate the qualification acceptability of your company.
