Description
This is an amendment to Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (Combo) posted on 9 July 09 for solicitation # F2EMMT9118AQ01. There will be no change to the response date of 17 July 2009 16:00 PM MST. DESCRIPTION: CLIN 0001 - Repair-includes the following: Disassemble, test, clean, and inspect all parts. Recondition stator and rotor-varnish treat, assemble using 1 each new bearing. CLIN 0002 - Dynamic Balance. ADD CLIN 0003 - Freight Purpose: The Marathon Alternator is a high voltage 3 phase 4160 V generator coupled with a V-12 Cummins diesel engine. The purpose of this Form 9 is to provide detailed electrical disassembly, cleaning, testing, inspection, stator/rotor reconditioning and single bearing replacement. Also, requested is baking, which is a method used to dry all winding inside unit to avoid any possible damage due to wetness from cleaning. This task is required to ensure proper high voltage output for the MEP-12 generator. Generator is currently in Non-Mission Capable (NMC) status. Impact to Mission if not funded: Without this major step accomplished, the $165k generator will have to be turned in for disposition. Also, with the lack of prime power generator sets in the AF inventory, this will cause a major setback in missions requiring power plant demands. Also, unit will remain in NMC status affecting SORTS reporting status. Once the service is completed on the unit and the Squadron personnel complete a functional check, the generator will be able to be reported as Full Mission Capable (FMC) in SORTS.
