- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Plant Division has a construction requirement for the installation of a new integrated Steam & Chilled Water Generation Plant equipment instrumentation and controls system within Building 302. Major work items will include the installation of all new wiring, conduit, control devices, operator hardware and control panels, software graphics and programming, and functional performance verification testing of each installed component and system. The owner requires phased installation and testing of all new work, concurrently integrated into an existing 24/7 fully operating central plant delivering chilled water, steam service, and compressed air to the NIST campus. The existing systems will remain operational until the transition to new controls systems is completed and commissioned. The standard classification NAICS code is 236210, Industrial Building Construction. With a small business size standard of $33.5 million. THIS WILL BE A SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. A detailed Statement of Work and drawings will be available upon request when the solicitation is issued. No drawings or Statement of Work will be made public until the solicitation has been issued. The period of performance will be 240 calendar days from the date of contract award. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about July 29, 2009, and will only be available on FEDBIZOPPS at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website for all information regarding the solicitation. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. NIST will not mail paper copies of the request for proposal or any affiliated documents. No telephone requests will be honored and no bidder lists will be maintained.
