- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Services (NESDIS) Division located in Silver Spring, MD is planning to award a sole source service contract for the GOES N/O/P ground system used to command and control the GOES N/O/P series weather satellites research, enhancement, operational transition, and maintenance of MYK-15A Caribou ground unit. The MYK-15A is the current replacement unit for the original MYK-15. The purpose is to purchase 2 MYK Caribou ground units to act as spares for the system. Thus this purchase will allow the opportunity to verify that it has identical interface to the remainder of the IT system. Therefore, NOAA will award a sole source contract to SafeNet. The planned contract will be for the purchase of the two units with options for warranty maintenance service, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The NAICS under this procurement is 517919. Award of this contract is expected to be made in the month of August 2009. This notice constitutes the required publication of a proposed contract action in accordance with FAR 5.203. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this notification will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement No telephone requests will be honored.
