- The Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky (VAMC-Louisville) has a requirement for an AE firm to provide design services for approximately 1,900 square feet of the Surgical Suite, Rooms B-406 and B-407. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the designing a new Angiography room, control center, as well as a support equipment room. The design needs to maintain a surgical room on the suite, yet not necessarily in the current location. Design includes the preparation of complete drawings and 3-D animation in AutoCad 2009 specifications, and construction cost estimates per Veterans Affairs (VA)guidelines. Design shall also include upgrades to the HVAC system and incorporate electrical, plumbing, communications, doors and windows, fire suppression and finishes. A determination will need to be made of the structural requirements for the new machine and thus the design shall include structural reinforcement if necessary. The new design shall conform to current standards and provide adequate facilities for VA staff. The design shall also include preparation of detailed phasing plan/sequence of operation for minimum disruption of hospital operations. The successful A/E firm shall include a certified Industrial Hygienist for planning asbestos abatement throughout the project. Area of consideration is limited to a 50 mile radius of the Louisville VA Medical Center. The NAICS Code is 541130 and the size standard is $4.5M. Period of performance is 120 calendar days. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Firms desiring consideration must submit three (3) copies of SF 330 NO LATER THAN 2:00p.m EDT on August 17, 2009. A/E selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services. 2)Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including where appropriate, experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction and the use of recovered materials. 3)Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. 4)Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time. 5) Location in the general geographical area of the project. 6)Acceptability under other appropriate evaluation criteria. This procurement is a 100% set aside for all small business concerns: SDVOSB, VOSB, 8a, HUBZONE, SDB, Women-Owned Small business concerns, Estimated Construction cost range is $1,000,000.00 to $2,000,000.00
