- Sack Creek Culvert Removal and Bridge Installation Project Synopsis: This project consists of three culvert removals and a timber bridge installation on Forest Road #582 in Bear Valley, Idaho, at Sack Creek. Major items of work include: traffic control signing and barricades; dewatering and stream diversion; structure excavation and backfill; culvert removal; clearing and grubbing; furnish and install a treated structural timber bridge; furnish and place base course aggregate; furnish and place asphalt concrete; haul and place riprap; sort, wash, and place streambed simulation rock; salvaging and replacing riparian shrubs and wetland sod; and seeding, fertilizing, and mulching. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and shall perform all work required to complete the project as shown on the plans, shown on the manufacturer’s shop drawings, and as described in the Standard Specifications (FP-03) and Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS). The project site is located on the Lowman Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Valley County, Idaho. The Sack Creek Site is on Forest Road #582 at Milepost 27.64. From Lowman, take State Highway 21 north-east and continue approximately 3.8 miles past Banner Summit to Forest Road #579. Continue on this road for approximately 11 miles to the junction with Forest Road #582. Continue south-west on 582 for approximately 4.5 miles to the Sack Creek Crossing. Or from Lowman take Forest Road #582, approximately 27.64 miles north-west to the Sack Creek Crossing.
