- Description
- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. This opportunity is available only to the Brookhaven National Laboratory management and operating (M&O) contractor. The M&O contract was competitively awarded and implements a multidisciplinary science program for the Office of Science. The strategic uncertainties of the experimental research and development outcomes do not facilitate award of a fixed price contract. Projects for Basic Energy Science (BES) - Funding amount of $4,810,000.00 adds one project entitled Nanoscale Science Research Centers. 1. Basic Energy Science (BES) - Nanoscale Science Research Centers [$4,810,000.00] - Funding amount of $4,810,000.00 to update, upgrade, or expand capabilities of the Center for Functional Nanomaterials to conduct leading edge science and serve users. Projects for Nuclear Physics (NP) 1. Nuclear Physics (NP) - PHENIX Forward Vertex Detector MIE. [($1,033,000)] - Funding amount of ($1,033,000) is transferred from Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) consistent with the involvement of LANL with the Recovery Act milestones for this project. 2. Nuclear Physics (NP) - Enhance AIP Funding at NP User Facilities [$7,200,000.00] - Funding amount of $7,200,000.00 for accelerated implementation of the stochastic cooling in both storage rings and implementation of electron lenses for Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Projects for High Energy Physics 1. High Energy Physics - Advanced Technology R&D Augmentation [$55,000] - Funding amount of $55,000 for the first year's work on "A Laboratory-University-Industry Collaboration for the Development of Magnets with Fields > 22 Tesla Using HTS Conductor" Program.
