The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to ProGroup, 4947 Fosterburg Road, Alton, IL 62002 for a WellPro 3000 automated liquid handler for antigenic analysis of influenza viruses collected globally from current influenza pandemic for influenza vaccine selection using hemagglutination inhibition tests. Three will be purchased. Units must be completely compatible with WellPro equipment already in use for antigenic characterization in the influenza lab. The key features of this unit are: 96- and 384-well format with 12- or 24-channel liquid head design to allow for faster processing speed, simplicity of use, and reliability; serial dilutions in almost any ratio in microplates or micro tubes in either 12- or 24-channel format; precision achieved through a broad range of liquid volumes (1 ul to 200ul in 1 ul increments) for the 12-channel head; precision achieved through a broad range of liquid volumes (1ul to 50ul in 1ul increments) for the 24-channel head; plate-to-plate or microtube-to-microtube replication or transfers; plate filling from bulk containers; elimination of cross contamination by using disposable pipette tips; handling of 96- or 384-well standard, shallow, deep well, U, V and flate-btoom plates as well as 96-format microtubes; and fits into a standard biohazard cabinet or fume hood. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Linda M. Young.
