- Description
- NASA Glenn Research Center plans to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB), for capitalimprovements to the north area Main Gate entrance at the NASA Glenn Research Center. This is Phase II of the Main Gate Improvement project.The work to be performed underthis project consists of providing all the labor, equipment, and materials necessary forthe construction of concrete paving for the new Walcott Road, installation of a newtraffic signal, the construction of a new approximately 4,000 square foot Main Gate Houseand landscaping of reconstructed area.OPTIONS include the following: Option 1)Construct Truck Inspection Loop and Oversized Truck Lane; Option 2) Install FinalLandscaping; Option 3) Site Clear Existing Gate House and Parking Lot.Options shall bepriced separately. The magnitude of the Construction project is estimated to be between$1,000,000 ($1 Million) and $5,000,000 ($5 Million). A FIXED PRICE CONTRACT iscontemplated. This work is considered SPECIALITY TRADE CONTRACTORS.The NorthAmerican Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238990 and $14 million inthree-year average annual receipts for determining whether or not a business is small. THIS IS A 100% 8(a) SET ASIDE RESTRICTED TO THE CLEVELAND SBA DISTRICT. Technical andprocurement related questions shall be directed to: Aaron.A.Olmsted@NASA.gov. The firmdate for receipt of offers will be stated in the IFB. Drawings and specifications willbe available from a local BLUEPRINTER listed in the IFB. The Period of Performance shallbe stated in the IFB. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shallbe considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed See NASA Specific NoteB. THE SOLICITATION SHALL BE POSTED AS SOON AS AN IFB OPENING DATE IS ESTABLISHED. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement (with the exception ofspecifications and drawings) will be available over the INTERNET. These documents willbe in Microsoft Office 2007 format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (www) server,which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.The internet site, or URL, forthe NASA/GRC business opportunities page ishttp://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=22 OR http://www.fbo.gov. Prospective bidders shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It isthe offerors responsibility to monitor the internet site for the release of thesolicitation and amendments (if any). Potential bidders will be responsible fordownloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). All contractualand technical questions shall be submitted in writing.Telephone questions will not beaccepted.
