- Description
- The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting the existing contractor, Watermark Environmental, Inc., to cut and remove 3 inches pavement in a 40' x 50' area adjacent to the Hurricane Barrier concrete structure. Mark and photograph the dike armor stone underlying arrangement(s). Remove armor stones above the underground conduit and set aside for replacement after repairs. Excavate to the underground conduit ductbank. Remove any damaged sections of 4 inches conduits and ductbank and replace with new Schedule 80 underground 4 inches conduits. Drill and insert four (4) #5 rebar dowels into the existing concrete of the hurricane barrier structure. Place new 5,000 psi concrete over new conduit to form a new section of duct bank 1'x1' in cross-section. Backfill and compact soil around the ductbank. Replace armor stones in same locations as was removed. Repave the exposed armor stone surface to match the grade of existing driveway and the hurricane barrier structure Also to remove 15 existing fender and sector gate lights and wiring materials on the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier Fairhaven side gate from fixture locations back to the junction box on the concrete abutment. Provide 16 new fender lights (McDermott Light Co., Part #9-9P-120-IL-12-.250-1PM-R or approved equal) with 1inches GVC covered steel pipe. Install 15 lights on the barrier gate with new conductors, conduit and stainless steel clamps from the junction box on the concrete abutments to each original light location. Provide remaining light fixture to the Government as spare parts.
