- Sole Source Notice: This is a notice of intent of the Louis Stokes Cleveland, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 10000 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, Ohio 44141 to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) and 41 USC 253 (c) (1) The Government believes that only one business can satisfy agency requirements and intends to solicit with a single source for the Procurement of a Kay-Pentax Digital Video Recording System for Swallowing (DVSS). The Department of Veterans Affairs intent is to sole source the following requirement to the Pentax of America Company. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334510 and the small business size standard for this procurement is 500 employees. The purpose of this procurement is to provide recording and play back of Modified Barium Swallowing evaluations that are conducted by the Speech Pathology Department. Software has been developed by this company to interface with the Medical Center's Vista Imaging in CPRS to allow studies to be uploaded to the Medical Center's system. All responses must be received within 7 days of this publication. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that the action may be competed. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
