- The 96th Contracting Squadron, Eglin AFB, Florida intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed price contract for a snow machine. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 and Subpart 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The announcement number is F1T0EB9195AG01. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333415 with a size standard of 750 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. This is a 100% small business set aside. The technical requirements on the item are as follows: Snow machines must be on wheels and able to be moved by hand (2-3) people or towed with a small truck. The snow machines will have to plug into three-phase 480v 60Hz power, minimum 150 ft long cord. The spray manifold must be heated to prevent freezing of water during operation, 6000W heaters or greater. Snow machines must include all nozzles for operation. The snow machines must have electric oscillators to better distribute the snow over a wide area. Oscillators must have all metal gears (no plastic). Water connection must fit a standard fire hose (1.5in NH - American Standard Fire Hose Coupling Thread/National Hose Thread/National Standard Thread). Snow machines should be capable of making snow in the mid to high 20's (F) and close to saturated conditions. Snow machines will be stored outside and must be able to withstand the elements without rusting. Snow machines must be equivalent or better than the "Standard Wizzard Portable Snowmaker" from Snow Machines, Inc. (SMI Snowmakers) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-33.
