Description
Point of Contact for this effort is Dan Purcell, daniel.j.purcell@us.army.mil, US ARMY RDECOM, Natick Soldier Center, ATN: RDNS-WPW-C (Dan Purcell), 13 Kansas Street, Natick MA 01760. This is a sources sought notice to identify producers of Fire Resistant (FR) Fabrics for use in the manufacturing of Military Uniforms produced in the United States or its territories. The Army is seeking manufacturers with an established record of producing FR fabrics in the United States and its territories. Participation requirements- Sources must meet the following American Standard Test Methods(ASTM), ASTM F 1930-00 (Instrumented mannequin Evaluation), ASTM D 6413(Vertical flame evaluation of fabric substrate containing after flame, after glow and char length) and ASTM D 3884-01 (Durability of materials). To be considered for this sources sought the source must submit technical information and independent test data explaining the characteristics, performance and composition of their fabric in meeting the requirements of the standard test methods contained above. Additional Participation Requirements- Sources must include all appropriate Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), safety and health information. Sources must also include cost in the form of 1) sold as a fiber only, 2) cost per yard when woven into a finished substrate. Sources must submit all information no later than 1 September 2009. This process does not lead to a procurement or contract of any kind. This information will be used to evaluate and review FR fabric manufacturing within the United States and its territories. No information will be returned.
