Description

The Rhett Creek Trail Bridge Replacement project consists of removal and replacement of a thirty-one (31) foot treated timber bridge. Project requires transport and construction of the new structure and removal of the existing structures and any appurtenances from the National Forest. Associated work includes trail tread work, crib walls and gabions. Bridge is located on the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest in a remote setting which is inaccessible directly by vehicle. It is located at River Mile (RM) 46.6 of the Main Salmon River on Trail Number 96. Access will require a combination of vehicle access and jet boats or helicopters. Roads access the Salmon River at Whitewater (RM 38.8), Mackey Bar (RM 55.4) and Vinegar Creek (RM 78.1). Several certified jet boat operators are available for transport. Estimated price range for the project: $25,000-$100,000. Project completion deadline, August 30, 2010. We expect to issue the solicitation in the middle of August 2009.
