- Description
- DESCRIPTION: The NF/SG Veterans Healthcare System, Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, 1601 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608 intent to sole source with TUCKER-DAVIS TECHNOLOGIES (TDT), for the Z-Series 2 DSP High Performance Processor and Amplifier. This sole source basis is pursuant to VAAR 873 & 38 USC 8153 and FAR 6.302-1 for the Z-Series 2 DSP High Performance Processor and Amplifier. TDT is the only manufacturer to incorporate both high frequency stimulation and programmable DSP's. The Z-Series Base Station and Preamplifier is the only digital biological amplifier that employs fiber optic communication for noiseless data transmission. It is also the only amplifier which has an onboard DSP and interfaces directly to the PO5 Optical Gigabit Interface for high-speed data transmission and programming. The Z-Series processor features eight ultra fast digital signal processors networked on a novel bus architecture that speeds both onboard communication and memory access. Faster clock speeds and enhanced processing power improve channel count, but also allow for stimulus acquisition on all 256 channels at sampling rates up to ~25 kHz and up to ~50 kHz on up to 128 channels. Finally, the RZ2 system allows multichannel A/D input for dynamic, real-time stimulus control based on analog control signals from virtually any signal source. The Z-Series PZ3 is a high channel count, low impedance amplifier well suited for ECOG, Evoked Potentials, EEG's, LFP's, and EMG's. The PZ3 amplifier offers shared or true differential operation, low input inferred noise, impedance checking, and an optional high input range mode. A standard configuration for low sample rate, low impedance recordings includes 1.5mm Touch Proof connectors for electrodes, a PZ3 amplifier, and an RZ2 base station. The battery powered PZ3 digitizes and amplifies signals recorded from each of the electrode channels. All digitized signals are sent via a single fiber optic connection to the RZ2 base station for further processing. The RZ2 also sends amplifier configuration information to the PZ3 across the fiber optics. These features are essential to the research performed at BRRC. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 334419. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature to the Contracting Officer no later than Aug 3, 2009 at 4:00pm EST. Responses should be sent to shirley.courtney@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
