Description
Solicitation This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This combined synopsis/solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ) #2009-N-11499. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate a cost reimbursement type contract in order to evaluate hepatitis B vaccine-induced immunity among US-born adolescents who received hepatitis B primary vaccination series during early childhood. The contractor will identify eligible vaccinated adolescents, recruit, give study participants a challenge dose of hepatitis B vaccine, draw blood, and send specimens to CDC laboratory to test for evidence of HBV antigen and antibody. The contractor will draw a second blood sample that will be sent to CDC laboratory for HBV surface antibody testing at 10-15 days post- booster dose, to detect an anamnestic response and, therefore, estimate long-term protection. The associated NAICS code for this acquisition is 541690. This will be a full and open competition. The anticipated Period of Performance is 24 months. Additionally, all amendments and responses to questions will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the closing date. All questions must be submitted in writing, and in accordance with Section L of the attached solicitation, to Sharon Cunningham at Sharon.Cunningham@cdc.gov orJulio Lopez at Julio.Lopez@cdc.gov.
