Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) on a sole source basis with The University of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 for the continuation of services to support the National Eye Institute (NEI) to conduct basic physiological research in epthelia from a variety of organ systems, develop animal models of retinal disease and utilize pharmacological gene based therapeutic intervention. Again, this is a notice of intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with The University of Maryland for the continuation of services and is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government intends to issue a firm-fixed price purchase order for the services requested utilizing simplified acquisition procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit capability statements by email to Garnesl@od.nih.gov, Contract Specialist by July 28, 2009 at 1PM EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
