- Description: The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Ovid Technologies, Inc. of Norwood MA, in connection with Ovid User License (Online), for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Library Department, Edward Hines Jr. Hospital Hines, Illinois, in accordance with the Health Science Librarians of Illinois Membership, OVID Consortia Commitment, in the continued provision of Full Text On-Line Subscription, in support of facility medical staff in the performance of Direct Patient Care,). NAICS 511120 will be used for this acquisition and the Government believes that Ovid Technologies, Inc., is the only manufacture that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source procurement for the required supplies and or services. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Ovid Technologies, Inc., Norwood, MA. is the only source that provides the above indicated items and features. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within six (06) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5457. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Ovid Technologies, Inc., Norwood, MA.
